Making Mini Food Accessories

All our mini faux food accessories and jewelry are individually hand-sculpted by Liz out of polymer clay. Check out the short timelapse videos below to see our donut magnets and Pride rainbow cake charms come to life.

Decorating Scented Donut Magnets

Making Pride Rainbow Cake Charms

Design & Sculpting

Liz begins by sketching an idea, then sculpting it out with polymer clay using modeling tools and everyday items for texturing. (A toothbrush and metal needle tool were used to get the dough texture on the donuts above.) She then bakes the clay to cure it into a strong and durable piece.

Decorating

The next step is adding any decor such as liquid polymer clay for faux frosting or icing, and wonderfully aromatic essential and fragrance oils to scented items to add long-lasting charm. Faux sprinkles, glitter, charms, acrylic paint, etc. may also be added.

Final Touches

In the final steps, Liz adds all hardware like beads or magnets to make the products functional and carefully packages them into a sweet mini box for a truly unique and charming presentation. Many of our accessories offer an optional mini-perfume to coordinate.

Creating Character Figurines

Liz carries out every step of the process in her home studio from coming up with the initial design to sculpting the maquette in polymer clay, scanning and refining the digital model, 3D printing the resin copies, then finally hand-painting the resin piece.

Design & Sculpting

Liz begins her handmade collectible figurines by creating a few character sketch ideas, then finalizing a design for reference. She then sculpts and bakes the model in polymer clay.

3D Printing

For limited edition runs, she scans the original clay figurine, creates a digital model, then our in-house 4K resolution 3D resin printer makes multiple copies. Each print captures all the detail.

Finished Design

For the final step, Liz paints each resin figurine,

turning them into a one-of-a-kind collectible or limited edition run. Variations on models may include blanks, different color schemes, or mixed media.
